A Drop in the Ocean.

Floods seem to be becoming far more commonplace than we would like.  It wasn’t so long ago that flooding would only occur every once in a blue moon, but as we have seen recently, it is happening far more frequently.

Hundreds of people have found their homes or businesses flooded over the last few years and it has taken them a long time to get back to normal.  It isn’t simply a case of everything being wet; much of the water is contaminated with sewage.  This is not a pleasant thought, but it is something that has to be kept in mind.  If items are not properly cleaned (or replaced) then there is also a risk of disease.

If it wasn’t for insurance companies, then many areas of Britain would have completely ground to a halt.  Thousands of claims were made on home and shop insurance policies over that bleak period.  And without that support, many people would still be in a very dire situation today.
